Reflexology

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a holistic therapy, which treats the feet, in order to balance the whole body.  The treatment of the feet is based on the knowledge of points on them, which correspond to body organs, systems and structures, which represent an anatomical map of the body.  By using massage techniques and by applying pressure on these reflex areas of the feet, it is possible to detect areas of congestion and imbalances in the tissues, organs and systems of the client’s body.  By working on these, we can clear them, re-balancing, re-vitalising and de-stressing the client, leading to a better flow of energy to maintain homeostasis – the body’s condition of relative stability and balance within its own internal environment.

Reflexology does not diagnose diseases nor cure specific medical conditions.  The holistic practitioner is assessing imbalances in the client as a whole and through the treatment is attempting to help heal the client’s own healing energy to resolve these imbalances.  Reflexology encourages both relaxation and stimulation, helping to maintain and to restore health.
