I have written and contributed to eight academic publications, as well as writing and presenting a BBC Radio 4 series, broadcast in 2001, 2003 and 2008. In this period, I was always interested in complementary medicine and holistic therapies but could not see a way to train and continue my full time job.
As a Visiting Professor in Contemporary Performance and Visual Culture at the University of Northampton, I have been able to continue my research and academic writing, whilst writing my first novel and working as a Complementary Health Practitioner and Holistic Therapist since completing my training and studies. I am a fully qualified professional holistic therapist with International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC) Diplomas (Level 3, Distinction) in Anatomy & Physiology, Professional Conduct and Business Awareness, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage, Holistic Massage and Diet & Nutrition. I belong to the professional association of the Federation of Holistic Therapists, and am a member of the International Council of Holistic Therapists. I am an Associate Member of the Association of Reflexologists. In addition to my private practice, I work as a casual holistic therapist at Stapleford Park Spa.
I have known many colleagues and friends who work hard, but who feel continually stressed and find it hard to manage the balancing act of work and life. I offer a service – ‘Lifestyle Change’ -, which addresses changing that balance, using an holistic approach and building on each individual’s unique holistic picture to re-focus and re-frame changing priorities, desires and dreams.
Health and happiness are fundamental to well-being.
I look forward to meeting you.
